Excitement can leave us breathless. Our hearts pounding in our chests. Our hands jittery. It can sharpen your focus or cause a burst of creativity as your mind expands to explore all the options over this excitement. It’s like noise for your soul. » Read the rest of the entry..

The problem with having a week long of rain for a hurricane/tropical storm is that it makes it very hard to be productive. I mean, the flooding, property damage and deaths are serious too, but the loss of productivity is hard to overcome. So as a weekend goes this one was quite productive to help overcome the week of slacking. » Read the rest of the entry..
It took most of yesterday for Gmail to acquire all my emails from the google app hosted email, it was downloaded in batches varying in size ranging from 150 emails at a time to 250. But I can’t tell you how much of a relief it is to only have to check 1 place for the vast majority of my email.
Another interesting thing took place yesterday, I got home and took my contacts out (as is my routine) to let my eyes rest. Normally I just go without glasses and just deal with my astigmatism. Well last night I was struggling to read the satellite tv guide on screen so K brought me my glasses. I put them on and all was well. I was able to get to watch the Bears vs 49ers game, and then put in The Rock on DVD. » Read the rest of the entry..
My car died on Monday. The timing chain broke and caused the piston heads to hit the top of their cylinders, in turn causing major damage which would have cost more than the car was worth to repair. K and I have a non-aggression pact when it comes to the PC Mac wars. I have my PCs and she has her Macs. We respect each others’ machines and life moves on.
MindComet has tipped the tide of this war, broken our standstill. How? Well, we’re a Mac office so I’ve adjusted and am happy to say I’ve had little trouble with the machines. There are some frustratingly simple things I’ve had to unlearn. Not to mention it drives me batty when I’m switching between my Mac and the PC I’ve remoted into to test for IE6 bugs. Why does it drive me batty? The difference between Option + R and Ctrl + R. The Option key is where Alt normally is for PC users. But that’s a small thing. » Read the rest of the entry..
I didn’t take any photos, my workspace needs more geeky decoration before I feel I can really share it with the world, but today was a great first day.
I met almost everyone in the IT department and got my hands into a few projects. I took part in a brainstorming session for a prospective client, worked on bugs for a current client’s site, and filled out LOTS of paperwork. It always surprises me how much paperwork it takes to become an employee. » Read the rest of the entry..
