Seven Days In

We’re seven days in for my 30 days of Wii Fit and I’ve had pos­i­tive results so far even though I had two days in a row with­out work­ing out. As of last night’s mea­sure­ment I’m down 6 lbs. from when I started. I don’t  really believe it, maybe 3 or 4 but even that seems unlikely. Who knows, my body might be in overdrive.

The inter­est­ing thing to me is that Katie and I are using it for con­tin­u­ally length­en­ing times. When we started it was 7–8 min­utes, then the next time we went up to 10. The time after it was 12–14 min­utes and then last night we both did it for 20+ minutes.

I’ve dis­cov­ered my best car­dio work­out is, *ahem*, the hula hoops. I hate run­ning, my knees and body hate it too. But I can swing my hips! I’ve pro­gressed up to the advanced hula hoops with extended time so the next time I do it, it’ll be six min­utes of core workout.

I think the major boost is that in doing this I am much more aware of what I’m eat­ing, how much I’m eat­ing and when I’m eat­ing. The down­side is that I’ve been drink­ing soda and energy drinks due to short nights and need­ing the energy. The plan is to crash at home after work to pre­pare for the Magic tour­na­ment tomorrow.
