Revision3 just debuted a new show called “Scam School” which they spin as a show about Magic tricks and ways to win bets, sort of. It’s hosted by a guy named Brian Brushwood, who is a professional magician.

I actually saw him perform several years ago at Georgia Tech and I bought his books which were along the same lines of his new show, including how to win free drinks at the bar and how to begin learning to breathe fire. Not to mention I remembered his domain name off the top of my head (no small feat since I haven’t been there in probably 3 or 4 years.)

I’m eager to see the first episode and where the show goes, looks like it is off to a good start though.

This was filmed at GP: Daytona Beach and, let’s be honest, last week’s episode hardly deserved the name. So, to further prove how little we care about episode numbering here is Episode 9 again.

In this episode we learn just why we need Darren our video and audio guy, as he sent us off to Daytona while he took care of things, and unfortunately the audio in our intro and outro is horrible, sorry about that. So don’t blame Darren for it! Also, and more importantly, in this episode, Lee looks over my card pool and tells us what he thinks of it and how he would have built the deck from it.

The whole card pool, deck lists (both mine and Lee’s) will be up later today, as usual.

We’re back from Grand Prix: Daytona Beach! It was a great, but truly exhausting, event and I hated having to get up and go do my real job. I fell asleep putting this episode together, which, despite it’s simplicity still took me a little while.

For those who are just joining us, having first learned of us this weekend at the Grand Prix, as I mention in the episode, this is not our normal way of doing things. Normally we are on camera and it is focused on some element of strategy in the game, this one is just a collection of snapshots from the event and some of my snarky humor interspersed.

Be sure to check out next week’s episode where we’ll look over Lee Steht’s shoulder as he builds a deck from my sealed deck card pool!

On this episode, Brian gathers Crispy and Stephen around the podcast fire to talk about Jonathan Coulton, Zombies, Numa Numa and Yahoo! … plus anything else we think of.

Comments, questions, requests to kill Brian for hitting the Yahoo button like it’s wired to a beer dispenser … feedback@whatthecast.com

And pants … pants are funny …

Episode 20, recorded on November 5th … remember, remember … Brian, Patrick and Stephen talk about everything from Will Smith to Ron Paul. It’s definitely not affected by the writer’s strike, because nobody could have thought to write this down!

Episode 6, as we mentioned last week, was nixed. But we’re back! Episode 7 is one of our best yet.

Segments:
- PT Valencia, GP Brisbane & Player of the Year Race (this segment was taken from episode 6, so it’s slightly dated.)
- Footage from the Florida State Champs
- Elves Deck, the winner of Florida Champs

Alright folks, we may be delayed with next week’s episode. Our video guy, Darren, is currently in France and so we can’t get it recorded on schedule. I’m investigating some alternatives.

See Conrad’s Elves deck as well as the other decks to Top 8 at the Florida State Champs! Click Here.

Brian & Stephen cover the usual range of strange topics on this episode of WhatTheCast. Got comments, let us know: feedback@whatthecast.com or hatemail@whatthecast.com. Notes after the cut …

Episode 5So, with a day’s delay here it is. This episode is about Standard post-Lorwyn, PT Valencia and we make some Lorwyn draft picks.

Inside this episode:
- Standard deck ideas
- Pro Tour Valencia
- Lorwyn Draft Picks

This episode has just been a headache to put out. We were testing a new camera and it acted up, but we didn’t catch it until we wrapped shooting and were beginning to edit the show. Then we begin having issues with intermittent static and so we had to address that. But we’ve addressed almost all the issues and here it is.
