Meditations on the Iron Man Trailer

September 11th, 2007 Posted in Musing

Alright so I just watched the trailer, yes I know it was up yesterday, yes I should have watched it yesterday but I’ve been kind of busy with other things.

Random thoughts:

  • Robert Downey Junior is indeed still the perfect person to play Tony Stark. Perfect.
  • Best line ever is still the one I quoted a few weeks ago about him being Davinci and being the merchant of death.
  • The progression of suits is awesome, I totally geeked out.
  • The use of the Black Sabbath song was stupid, it totally needed a cover of it. Their song was too slow, it needed more upbeat for the clips they showed.
  • Yes, I squeaked in excitement when you saw him flying next to some F-18s.
  • I loved the breaking the sound barrier and seeing the sonic bubble around him.

May 8th can’t come soon enough. I officially offer my soul to get into the preview viewings of it.

Well little bit of a soul I have left will also be in sacrifice to see this as early as possible.

Well, as Billy Joel once said, it’s all about soul. ;)

I thought using the Black Sabbath song was a bad choice, too. Mainly because it’s too obvious; they should have gotten a good composer to write a new song, instead of one that everyone in the audience already associates with the high-school parking lot.

    *goosebumps*
