I am not panicking at the news of Musk's impending purchase of Twitter. I'll be curious to see how it goes. If it goes south, I'll walk away from the platform and look for who will leap in and launch a new competitor that the world gloms onto. Will it be Mastodon? The decentralized Twitter alternative? I doubt it, but we'll see. Or maybe Google will relaunch G+? Ha.
I can now tweet threads from Glowbug. It isn't a feature I plan to use often, but I wanted the flexibility to exist. I've been toying with the idea of taking a Twitter hiatus, and if I did so, I would want to have a bit more flexibility in how I can post via the blog.
Eureka! After far more time than I expected, I have finally succeeded in getting my Twitter archive from the json export they send you into a simple mysql database. Nearly fifteen years of varying levels of inanity are now fully in my control.
