Boardgaming Monday
Yesterday, to distract, and take advantage of a friend in from out of town, four of us got together and spent the afternoon into the evening playing Feast for Odin: The Norwegians. As I posted on Bluesky, I continue to be aggressively mediocre at the game. I managed to get 3rd out of four, which is good as I am reliably one of the worst at boardgames in my playgroup.
Incredible photo titled "Cathedral, Mountain, Moon"

From the NASA webpage:
Single shots like this require planning. The first step is to realize that such an amazing triple-alignment actually takes place. The second step is to find the best location to photograph it. But it was the third step: being there at exactly the right time -- and when the sky was clear -- that was the hardest. Five times over six years the photographer tried and found bad weather. Finally, just ten days ago, the weather was perfect, and a photographic dream was realized. Taken in Piemonte, Italy, the cathedral in the foreground is the Basilica of Superga, the mountain in the middle is Monviso, and, well, you know which moon is in the background. Here, even though the setting Moon was captured in a crescent phase, the exposure was long enough for doubly reflected Earthlight, called the da Vinci glow, to illuminate the entire top of the Moon.
A photo from a few months ago, capturing a rainbow from the new office. Using this as a test for a tweak to the uploading system for glowbug.

Bean Jean Ammons (1930-2014)

My grandmother, whom I was very close with, passed away nine years ago today. When I moved to Seattle, one of things which broke my heart was that it meant she wouldn't be able to come visit. When I lived in Orlando, she would come down to Orlando two or three times a year, but I had to sacrifice that. We made one trip to see her in Georgia after moving, spending several days in the town and with her. I'll always treasure that time and the photos from it.
Eight years
Eight years ago today we adopted Elwood, oh how time flies. We're both getting progressively more gray, I dare say he makes it look better than I do.

Me as an Anime hero
I gave in and ran myself through the TikTok anime filter. I heard it killed beards so I was curious to see.

New Watch Face

I saw user cavera-de on the Galaxy Watch subreddit share this watch face, and I finally remembered to install it today. It feels very futuristic to use my laptop to install software to my watch.
Overall, I'm quite liking it. I haven't used an "analog" face for a while, but this is suitably futuristic that I really am enjoying it.
It makes me wish the watchface was OLED so I got deeper blacks, but I'll survive. It still looks great. The orange dot on the left is the notification light. I could add other things such as battery, date, steps, etc. But I really like this clean UI.
Me as a blacksmith last week
A coworker had brought his camera and snapped photos of folks during the teambuilding activity last week. He just shared the pics and I can say that I feel pretty confident this is among the coolest I've ever looked.

Four Biplanes

Working outside when I look up at the sound of approaching planes, only to see four biplanes in formation. Not something you see everday.
